Antique Floral Tapestry Pin Wheel - Pin Cushion
These little pin wheels are very hard to come by these days. This very beautiful one is covered with a different fabric on each side - the first one a dark red and green floral tapestry print, and the flip side an abstract red, black and cream design.
In good condition; the second side shows wear to fabric. Please click the small photo at left for a larger, detailed view.
This pin wheel measures appoximately 2 1/4" inches in diameter, and 1/8" inch thick. There are 23 pins of various sizes inserted in the edge.

Pair of Barkcloth Needle Books
These two vintage needlebooks are made with barkcloth in a red, pink, green and cream floral design.
The first measures approximately 3 5/8" x 4" inches when closed. There's machine stitching at the "spine" and it is blanket-stitched, by hand, at two edges. It contains 10 needles of varying sizes.
The second measures 3.5 x 4 inches when closed. It's machine stitched.
It is very unusual to find a matching pair of needlebooks. They are each in very good condition, and will be a lovely addition to your collection. Please be sure to click the photo at left for additional, larger, photos.

Vintage Clothespin Holder - For Travel
This charming pouch for clothespins is made of knit fabric, zig-zag stitched. The front of the fabric is green, the back orange.
It's filled with 4 bright green wooden clothespins. It rolls shut, and is secured with a dark green cord. It was probably intended for travel, or perhaps to neatly store a few clothespins for home use.
The case measures approximately 8 1/4" inches wide and 6 1/2" inches tall when open; when tied closed about 4" tall by 2 1/2" inches in diameter. A delightful addition to your collection.

Mandan, North Dakota Souvenir Pin Cushion, Thread & Thimble Holder
This rustic souvenir of Mandan, ND serves as a pincushion, and also has spindles to hold a spool of thread and a thimble. It's made of a pie-shaped piece of wood, still with the bark on it.
In very good condition; wood has darkened somewhat and shows light wear. The pincushion has pin holes. A little wear to the gold lettering. Green felt protects the bottom.

Cherokee, North Carolina Pin Cushion
This cute little 3-legged pincushion is made of cedar, and is a souvenir of Cherokee, NC, which is right in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. The fabric is green, with red & ivory (probably once white) flowers.
It measures about 2.5" inches wide and stands just shy of 2" inches tall. Likely from the 40s or 50s.
In very good condition; wood has darkened somewhat and shows light wear. The pincushion itself is a bit lopsided and has pin holes.
A darling addition to your pincushion collection!

Heath & Gills 1914 Needle Book
Not just folded paper like so many needle books; this one has a fancy, textured, green marbled paper cover which is padded. It's printed in gold, with the silhouette of a girl framed in hearts, and the word NEEDLES.
When folded closed it's about 3/8" inch thick, 5 1/8" tall, by 3 1/4" wide. It's lined in a peach moire paper.
Inside, on the left are places for an Aug. Thomas Needle Threader, and 6 needles, which are not present. The needleholder is made of dark blue paper, and has a fancy gold moire paper band that reads, "Patent No 1088057, Feb. 24, 1914. Made in Czechoslavakia."
On the right side is a folder, dark blue paper printed in gold, that holds needles sized 7, 5 & 6. Some are missing, but 18 are still present. A few show some corrosion. The folder is elaborately decorated and reads, "Heath & Gills Superfine Needles. Gold Eyes. Patented August 11, 1914, No. 1106773. Czechoslavakia."
In lovely condition, showing traces of wear at edges & to the gold decoration on front cover.
A beautiful addition to your needle books collection. $12

Occupied Japan Silk Pincushion
This tomato pin cushion is silk. On the underside of one of the leaves at top it's stamped "Made in Occupied Japan." As always, please click the photo at left for larger, more detailed images.
In good condition; has many pin holes, and a few stitches are rather strained. The paper leaves are bent. Still an unsual, hard-to-find piece, and a worthy addition to your pincushion or Occupied Japan collection. $17.

Two Little Vintage Emeries - Tomato & Strawberry
Here is a pair of little emeries. The first is a little dark red tomato just 1 3/8" inch in diameter. It's bound with green string and has a little green fluff of fabric on the top. There are a couple dozen old pins stuck into it. Shows some wear and soiling - it was well-used & loved by its original owner.
The second is an elongated strawberry shaped emery, about 1 7/8" inches in length. It is obviously handmade, and has a length of knotted green string attached. It is in good condition, with some dark spots and, of course, a few holes.
The pair of these charming emeries, for just $7.00.

Tomato Pincushion & Strawberry Emery - In Original Package
This tomato pincushion comes with an attached strawberrry emery, and is still in its original package, which probably dates from the 60s or 70s. It is "made in Taiwan."
The package is quite worn, but the contents are in new condition. The pin cushion measures approximately 2 1/4" inches in diameter. Just $7.00

Tomato Pincushion & Strawberry Emery (with lots of pins!)
This vintage tomato pincushion is loaded with pins of all sizes, types and colors. The original owner pinned the strawberry emery to the top of the tomato, instead of dangling on its attached string. Measures about 2 5/8" inches in diameter. It's in good condition, showing light wear, and, of course, some pin holes.

Two Small Wood Crochet Hooks
These crochet hooks measure 5" and 5 1/2" inches in length. They're made of a light colored wood which has a nice warm patina.
In very good, condition - very usable! - showing light wear from use.

Florida Sewing Machine Distrib. Advertsing Ruler
Here's an old ruler - there's no zip code in the address, and the phone number is given as "PL 1-7624." It's an advertising ruler for Florida Sewing Machine Distrib. The ruler advertises: Sales, Rentals, Repairs, Parts & Attachments for All Machines. The address is 8129 N. E. 2nd Avenue, Miama 38, Florida. (Yep, it really does say "Miama" - looks like the printer goofed!).
